The problem

Founders stay in charge long after they mean to, because the decisions they make every week were never written down.

How we work on it

We map the decisions a founder makes in a month, hand them over in stages and set up a small board for what is left. We meet the bank and the biggest customers with both generations in the room.

Succession comes down to the forty small decisions a week that still go through one person, and the customers who still call that person first.

What we look at

Every decision the founder makes in a month, who else could make it, and what they would need. The relationships that matter most: the bank, the largest customers, the key suppliers.

What you get

A handover plan in three stages, a board of three to five people, and a partner from Ferrow who sits on it until it runs without us.

Tell us what’s changed in the business. If we’re not the right firm for it, we’ll say so and suggest one that is. We can take two new clients from January.
