The problem

Lead times grow when every order waits for its materials, when machines sit far from the next step, or when the plan lives in one person’s head.

How we work on it

We time the real work, find the few products and materials that carry most of the orders, and rebuild the plan around them. The plan goes on a board where everyone can see it.

We start on the floor with a stopwatch, beside the people doing the work. Most delays come from a few causes, and the people doing the work usually know them already.

What we look at

Where orders wait and for how long; which materials and products carry most of the volume; how far work travels between steps; who decides what runs next, and when.

What you get

A production plan built around the products that matter, a weekly rhythm for updating it, layout changes where they pay back inside a year, and a team that runs it without us.
